Andrew rapidly grew into enjoying it, and became a regular attendee of all club meetings and events. Winning an award at the Smoky Mountains Regional because Mr. Smith told me him to talk about the dynamic braking on the Minibot, which all other teams had but neglected to mention. This page includes the history of the robotics club (obviously).

{{note|Some years may seem inaccurate, but this is because the team orients its history around when the [[FRC]] season actually is. Hence, in the school year of 2009-2010, it is our [[2010]] FRC season, thus the team calls it [[2010]]. Events in a year are also fixed to this system, such as a fall event which occurs in the 2010 season, while in actuality, the calendar year that the event happened in is 2009. ==Foundation==
In [[2004]], [[Brandon Adams]] founded the robotics team along with [[Diane Cass]]. Mrs. Cass had traveled from Oklahoma where she had been on a previous [[FIRST]] team. In conjunction with Brandon, his parents, and Mrs. Cass began to lay the foundation for a [[FIRST]] team. Somewhere along the line [[Paul Burrell]] came to help improve the robot. [[Gwen Albers]] came after Paul to point out that the robot needed spirit.<ref>"The Beginning of Robotics" by [[Paul Burrell]].</ref>

==Team Name==
In [[2004]], Team 1261 was registered as "B3 - Break, Build, Believe". The name "Robolions" was the first name suggested by [[Gwen Albers]] and a few other members. Although they thought the name was "cute", the guys on the team quickly voted the name down.<ref>[[Matthew Newcomb]] said this.</ref>

Mrs. Rutland was advertising Robotics every day in class and I thought that Robotics would be a lot of fun.

My brother. Recently I've realized just how amazing he is and the amount of dedication he puts into whatever he does.

I have to say that Logan Su, Sunny Gupta, and Tanner Smith are my ultimate role models. They are always patient whenever somebody has a question, and they always try their best to explain things out to people with limited knowledge. I'm always amazed at how much they know, and I deeply respect the work they put into gaining that knowledge. Whenever faced with a problem, they never ever give up and always find a solution. They are also generally the most awesome guys I know.

After adding a last-minute deployment system for the minibot, the robot worked well with some programming issues early on. Luckily, the programming issues were ironed out by the end of the first match day. The team encountered problems with autonomous alignment and minibot deployment. However, the robot successfully deployed 5 times during the regional.

The team made it to the Finals with 3149 and 1648. The winning alliance was 2415, 1771, and 2815.

The team's final ranking was 4th out of 48 teams with a record of 11-6-2. The highest scoring match was 72.

The team won Engineering Excellence Award and Finalist Award at Peachtree Regional.

==What is scouting?==

Scouting in the process by which teams gather, interpret, and share information.

==Gathering Information==

We gather information for our purposes. If at the end of qualifications, we find ourselves sitting in 2nd place and we need to create an alliance, then we use all of the scouting information to build the best alliance possible.

We want to gather everything piece of information about an opposing robot/team. We want to know if they have a strong drivetrain, a weak drive train, can they score well, do they suck at scoring, is their minibot fast, can they play good defense, etc. No information should go uncollected, whether it's notable or not.

==Interpreting Information==

We use this information all throughout the tournament.

For qualifications, we use scouting information to better gauge opponents and better gauge matches. If we learn that team xxxx has a jumpy driver who doesn't respond well to pressure, then it might be a good idea for us to put a robot to defend them and totally shut them down.

For finals, we use scouting information to help us pick teams. This part of our scouting team has never been too good, but I would like to change that. The best way to do this is to create a list of top 24 teams. Take this list, and go into finals.

==Sharing Information==

There are a lot of good robots this year, but like any year, it is the job of a scout to share information about our team. Paul made a step in the right direction in this. We need to spread information about our team to others so that they know what we can do.
