In 2006, the team won the Underwriters Laboratories Safety Award at the Peachtree Regional.

To win this award, the team created a in-depth safety program containing of a safety manual and a distributable CD with presentations and quizzes.

Safety Manual

A large safety manual was also assembled. Not very much information is known about it or whether or not the Robolions still have said manual, but what is known is that it is very large, contained 3-4 inch binder, and was assembled by Paul Burrell. [Citation Needed]

Distributable CD

The CD containing presentations and quizzes on many topics.

The team created a safety CD that could be distributed to other teams at the Peachtree Regional so that they could learn how to be safe and make sure that their team knows and practices safety.

As of 2010 at least eight CD's are still in possession of the Robolions.

Content

The CD contains a handout, a quiz (plus key), and a presentation on each of the following topics:

  • Robot Safety
  • Robot Pneumatics
  • Electrical
  • Battery
  • Lifting
  • Slip Trips Falls
  • Hand Tools
  • Portable Electric tools
  • Pneumatic Tools
  • Machine Shop
  • Welding
  • Fire
  • MSDS
  • Internet
  • Hotel

The content could be acquired by using the executable program that aided the user to access the quizes, presentations, and handouts among the various topics.

Case

Each CD came with a furnished DVD-like case that had front and back artwork.
