This post explains how to upload a media file and use it in a post.

Upload a Media File

  • Method One
    1. From the Dashboard, click on "Media" in the left hand navigation bar.
    2. Click "Add New" at the top of the page.
    3. Click "Select Files" at the top of the page.
      • Make sure the file is not too big and is appropriate for the site.
      • From this point the file will begin to upload and show the progress on the page.
      • If this does not work, click the "Browser Uploader" below "Select Files".
    4. From here, a box with several fields should pop up about your file. Give it a descriptive title so others can identify it.
    5. After you're done identifying the file, click "Save all changes"
    6. From this point, you're free to move anywhere, you're file is uploaded and saved.
  • Method Two
    1. From the page editor, click the left most "Add an image" icon above the page editor by the "Upload/Insert:".
      • Note: Any of the other icons work similarly, though they are a bit different.
    2. Click "Select Files" at the top of the page.
      • Make sure the file is not too big and is appropriate for the site.
      • From this point the file will begin to upload and show the progress on the page.
      • If this does not work, click the "Browser Uploader" below "Select Files".
    3. From here, a box with several fields should pop up about your file. Give it a descriptive title so others can identify it.
    4. If you're inserting the image to a page (which I'm assuming you'd be doing this for) select the alignment and size.
      • Make sure the attachment abides to the Page Guidelines.
    5. After you're done identifying the file or adjusting the alignment and size, click "Save all changes" if you're not going to insert the media file or click "Insert into Post" if you're going to insert the media file into your post.
    6. From this point, you're free to move anywhere, you're file is uploaded and saved.

Inserting Media into Post That is Already Uploaded

  1. From the post page, select the desired insert media icon above the page editor by the "Upload/Insert".
  2. From the top of the pop-up, select "Media Library".
  3. Find the desired file, and click "Show" to the right of it.
  4. Select the alignment and size of the media file.
    • Make sure the attachment abides to the Page Guidelines.
  5. Click "Insert into Post".
  6. From this point, you're free to continue editing your page.
