About Alvin

Alvin was built for use in the 2015 FRC game Recycle Rush.

Drive Train

Alvin's drive train is a square 6-wheel chassis with the four main wheels consisting of two traction wheels and two omni. The other two wheels are found in the center to provide additional traction on the playing field. The whole drive train is powered by four CIM high-speed motors.

Manipulator

Alvin's manipulator is powered by 8 pneumatic tanks and consists of translating arms. Limit switches and encoders help to enhance Alvin's speed and stacking capabilities, along with positive control/dynamic breaking on the lift. The lift is made functional by two CIM high-speed motors.
