What Got You Involved in the Team?
I have always been interested in robotics because I want to be an engineer like my dad. I got even more interested because one of my very good friends, Lexi Phipps, enjoys the club greatly. My first two years of high school I was highly involved in sports, but I got injured during the spring last school year. There is a very long healing process so I dropped out of my fall sport, cross country, and joined robotics. I am very excited for the upcoming year of building robots!
Who is Your Role Model?
This is basic, but my role model is my dad. He is an engineer/ computer scientist and he loves his job. He is extremely smart and hard working. He didn't come from money and he had to work very hard to get to where he is today. He has a very deep understanding of math and science (especially math). He tells me answers to questions that I would never even think of . Sometimes he gets angry at me because I don't work to my full potential and he gives me long talks about the future. I really love him a lot and I hope that when I'm older I can be just like him.
What are Your Future Career Plans
I want to be an engineer. That is definite, though I'm not sure what type. I'm trying to choose between electronics, biomedical, and aerospace. I also low-key want to design video games and get into computer animation but engineering is my first choice, those would just be really fun.
Interests or Hobbies
I really like video games (mostly RPG's and MMORPG's), I am a swimmer, runner, dancer, and I play golf. I also love my job (I'm a banquet waitress at the Atlanta Athletic Club).
What Other Groups/Clubs Are You Involved In?
I am in Beta Club, HOSA, and JCL (Junior Classical League aka Latin Club)
What Are Your Dreams In Life?
I want to make a lot of money but also enjoy the job I do. I would like to be happy and have friends but I'm not big on families. I also hope that whatever I do end up doing/making makes people happy, whether it's building a portable dialysis or a video game I hope people enjoy it.
