Fred Smith is the father of Tanner Smith.
Past
Fred grew up in south Georgia, Thomasville, GA. He attended the same high school is parents did which happened to be the last year for the high school as a new one had been built. Fred attended Emory University, as a pre-med student, but should have been at Georgia Tech.
Occupation
First job at Emory University Hospital in the Radiology Department then as an engineer for General Electric Medical Systems for 13 years. Fred was a support engineer for CT Scanners and later assisted with the development of PACS systems, one of the first, the GE MedNet. As a support engineer for Tennessee to Puerto Rico, traveling was the norm. Fred once fell asleep at the Atlanta airport awaiting a departing flight. With the threat of having to move to GE Meds headquarters in Waukesha, WI, Fred left GE to start a small computer support company. Later TRS Solutions was started. As one could guess, TRS, Tanner Robinson Smith.
