FIRST Robotics Competition, also known as "the big robot", is a six week event in the Spring. In the beginning, teams have six weeks to design, build, test, and program a robot before shipping it off to any regional they wish. From there teams compete with other teams to get a chance to attend championships and become one robot out of three that is the most awesome robot ever.
